I’ve have never actually grown peanuts, but I could not not draw this.

I wanted my “about” section to be more “comic-y,” so I made this.

Gladys gave us quite a scare this week, disappearing from our yard while free-ranging and not returning to her house, even after it got dark, as chickens are supposed to do.

We went out looking for her, to no avail, and had to assume she had run away or been eaten by something. Then, the next morning, who comes up sidling up to our gate when she heard us in the yard?

Who knows what she’d gotten up to.

Introducing Lucy: a dog whom we often dog-sit for some of our friends, and our Lilly’s only real dog-friend.

Stay out of family affairs. Especially between sisters.

Mockingbirds are most certainly the annoying, hack-y comedians of the Animal World. Or at least it seems that way when they’re perched just outside your bedroom window at 5:00 am, doing their rapid-fire impressions.

Woody Guthrie probably isn’t on my list of top “roots” musicians to listen to, but he was an interesting character and, when he was on, nobody folk-sang better:

When young mockingbirds are leaving the nest and learning to fly by hopping around and perching on low-lying objects, their mothers and fathers defend them zealously. And if you’d created something this beautiful, wouldn’t you?

Mom and Dad won’t dive-bomb Steph or I, but they have recently made the yard totally unsafe for Lilly (who I don’t think even notices these little birds squawking and bouncing around.)

After you harvest garlic, you have to hang it up to dry for a few weeks. Braiding the garlic together saves time and space.

Perhaps I didn’t attend enough girly slumber parties in the past? Perhaps that’s for the best?

Anyway, it’s hung and curing, and that’s what matters!
